Welcome to Luther Burbank Middle School

At the Luther Burbank Middle School, we join together in partnership with our community to foster life-long curiosity and love for learning. Our collective purpose is to build wisdom, knowledge, respect, responsibility, and compassion by engaging the head, hands, and heart of each one of our students. We embrace challenges as opportunities for growth, and we hold high expectations for all learners so that each may achieve to his or her fullest potential.                            ~ Laura Friend, Principal

arrowsPrincipal's Update
As I am writing , I am thinking back to this time last year, and I am smiling inwardly. Last February we had just been blasted by that late January blizzard and were digging ourselves out from over three feet of snow. This week, we are looking ahead to warm weather - 56 degrees on Wednesday. While I know we have many snow lovers in our midst, I must tell you it’s been great to have outdoor recess and a continuous stretch of learning for our students. As we enter into February, here’s to hoping that Mother Nature will continue to cooperate with our school calendar. So, Mother Nature, if you are listening, the request from LBMS is a bit of snow, a bit of cold, and a smooth (and quick) transition to spring!
