Welcome to Luther Burbank Middle School

We are a successful school because of the partnership that exists among staff, students and parents. Our staff works tirelessly to improve upon instruction, assessment and student achievement. Our students are cooperative, respectful and hard-working, and demonstrate good progress year after year. Our parents are involved, generous and supportive. It is a pleasure and honor to be principal of such a fine school.        ~ Patrick Perkins, Principal

Principal's Message

Nashoba Regional School District fully implemented its newly designed standards-based report card for each of the middle schools this year.  These new report cards were issued to students on Friday, December 12th.

The purpose of a standards-based report card is to effectively communicate a student's current level of progress and achievement toward meeting both curriculum standards and the development of successful learning habits.  It is intended to inform both parents and students of areas of strength and serve as a guide when improvement is necessary. A standards-based reporting system provides information about achievement at a given moment in time, and the level of proficiency a student has demonstrated regarding skills and content knowledge relative to year end learning standards. This system also provides feedback about the development of learning habits and social behaviors critical for academic growth. While our previous report cards did provide some information about a student's overall achievement, the reality is that student growth and learning is far too complex to be summed up effectively by a single letter grade.   read more...
