Welcome to Luther Burbank Middle School
At the Luther Burbank Middle School, we join together in partnership with our community to foster life-long curiosity and love for learning. Our collective purpose is to build wisdom, knowledge, respect, responsibility, and compassion by engaging the head, hands, and heart of each one of our students. We embrace challenges as opportunities for growth, and we hold high expectations for all learners so that each may achieve to his or her fullest potential. ~ Laura Friend, Principal

Dear Luther Burbank School Community,
It is with great enthusiasm that I write this letter to you as the new principal of the Luther Burbank Middle School. I am honored to have been selected to serve the Lancaster community as principal and am infinitely grateful for the opportunity to continue my relationship with a community that already resides close within my heart.
As I embark on my journey ahead, I begin with a steadfast commitment to the Luther Burbank Middle School mission of educating each child to his or her fullest potential in a safe, caring environment. To this end, I am committed to working with you to ensure a trusting and academically engaging learning experience for our children so that each may shine and develop uniquely and fully as they progress through their middle school years. The Luther Burbank Middle School has excelled under Mr. Perkins' leadership. It is my goal to honor and respect these prior accomplishments, while providing the initiative, direction, and support to continue to grow and achieve to an even higher level. The vision of our future, our students' future, is so very bright.
During the course of the year, I look forward to working with you in partnership. My door is always open, and I encourage your participation and your input as we work together to provide your child with the best possible middle school experience.
I extend an invitation to you and your family to join me for an informal meet and greet on Wednesday, August 26th from 6:00-7:30 in the Luther Burbank cafeteria. The meet and greet will give us an opportunity to get to know one another better and will give any interested students an opportunity to tour the hallways with me so that they feel ready to go on our first day back on September 2nd. Plus, there will be chocolate chip cookies - doesn't get any better than that!
Here's to a terrific year ahead!
