Welcome to Luther Burbank Middle School

At the Luther Burbank Middle School, we join together in partnership with our community to foster life-long curiosity and love for learning. Our collective purpose is to build wisdom, knowledge, respect, responsibility, and compassion by engaging the head, hands, and heart of each one of our students. We embrace challenges as opportunities for growth, and we hold high expectations for all learners so that each may achieve to his or her fullest potential.                            ~ Laura Friend, Principal

Principal's Message

arrowsPrincipal's Update
The record cold artic air that has hit New England has hit with vengeance. I hope that this message finds everyone having survived the recent weather event in warmth and comfort. Our facilities team has been working diligently since last Thursday with our local DPW and district contractors to ensure that our parking lot and sidewalks have been treated and cleared. With the extremely high winds, the task has proven to be an ongoing process. We are extremely grateful for the efforts that have been made in order for us to return to business as usual this Monday morning. While I know that conversations regarding attire can often lead to hearty discussions with adolescents, please do remind your child to dress warmly and bundle up with the cold winter air that seems to have become our norm. Layers are great for school. Students can store an extra sweatshirt in their locker. Hats and gloves are great, too.
