About the Library
The Luther Burbank Middle School Library is open every day during school hours. Most days it remains open until 3:00 p.m. for students to do homework, research, or just read! We also host a few after school activities:
- Game Club is held on Mondays right after school and ends at 3:05. We have numerous board games, card games, etc. and students can join anytime. Many students, and even some teachers, are known to stop by and play!
- Craft Club is held on Wednesdays right after school and ends at 3:05. This is new this year and the projects we work on will be led by the interests of the group. Try it out if you are at all crafty...it should be FUN!
- Movie/Book Club is held on Fridays. While we are reading the book it ends at 3:05, but on Movie days students need to arrange for a ride homeat 4:30. This group started 5 years ago, and we continue to grow. Students can bring snacks/drinks on movie day, and as an added attraction we have a new popcorn machine!
Our collection of books, audio books, reference materials, and videos totals approximately 11,000. In addition, we subscribe to some databases, magazines, and the Worcester Telegram and Gazette. We also have access to numerous databases, including WorldBook On-Line, through our affiliation with the Massachusetts Library System (MLS). Students can access these by going to our On-Line Catalogs and General Reference links.
Other internet resources can be accessed by going to our Grade-level Curriculum links. These are divided by subject area and curriculum content.
