Last week, the English Language Education (ELE) team hosted a Family Night for the district's Multilingual Learners. Families and staff gathered for an evening of activities and pizza. We thank the ELE team and all the families for coming together for a fun night of community and learning.

Luther Burbank kicked off the Open House season on Thursday. Parents/caregivers had the opportunity to talk with Related Arts teachers in the cafeteria before heading to the LBMS Library to hear from each grade level team. The PTO and The Innovation Pathways programs also set up information tables!

NRSD welcomed back educators on Monday, August 25th, with a district wide presentation before teachers returned to their buildings to prepare for students!

Last week bands and chorus groups across the district came together for the second annual Along the Great Road Music Festival. Throughout the day different groups had the chance to perform to judges who offered critiques, provided a brief clinic, and awarded medals.

Earlier this year we announced that Ms. Macharia (LBMS) was selected to receive the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST)! This past Tuesday she was recognized along with 31 other award-winning Massachusetts educators at DESE's annual Celebration Honoring Excellence in Teaching.
